Crimson Garden – Kuwait

The Garden, a restaurant which made Kuweaters experience Persian cuisine a whole lot differently. It took us away from the “fast” Persian kabab pick up in Bneid Al Gar, into a world of exquisite taste and fresh food that’s both familiar and innovative. Persian food has always been a local favorite, and that’s why Garden went straight to our hearts!

Serving all kinds of our rice favorites, the saffron rice with Zereshk is what we loved the most. The  aroma of the gormet kababs with their buttered up rice doesn’t to justice to the taste! With a side of pomegranate potatoes, you’ll satify every tastebud in one meal! Hot irani bread falling onto the breadbasket confuses us on what to eat the kababs with, our recommendation: a little of both!

With the winter coming a long, the Sebzi is a must have! Thick and stewed to perfection, a long with white rice or even shbent rice will have you warmed up in the winter breeze.

All of this is complimented by their fresh garden greens, a typical Irani vegetable selection that will have you munching away.

Until its warm enough for the sebzi, go get some falutha. A ligh Irani frozen dessert, made with rose water, not to sweet and completely authentic with its fluffly texture and sharp rosewater scent, it’s a simple treat for your tastebuds after such a hearty and pungent meal!

It’s a shame that Rice and Sawah are sister restaurants of this amazing place. Though each one have concepts that have so much potential, the quality cannot be compared, and we hope they learn from garden. How can creators of such a unique restaurant, cater to such average ones at the same time?
