In Soho London, in a little street where cars cant even squeeze in, a door that looks like the passageway to a dungeon serves as the entrance of Hakkasan. You enter to witness one of the most amazing atmospheres you can ask for in a restaurant.

Hakkasan is an oriental restaurant that has captured the tastes of Kuweaters, which normally don’t go for oriental food. Chinese and Thai recipes are in fusion with the chefs’ creativity with spices and presentation making the food to die for. There are very few chefs that let you enjoy every bite; with the right amount of sauce, and quantity of the right ingredient. The crispy duck salad is one example, the duck isn’t a garnish, but it is literally a duck salad; a mountain of cut up duck meat on top of a carefully placed bed of greens.

Even if you are not of a big fan of the oriental (fyi- we believe a visit to hakkasan will change your mind) you will enjoy the “loungey” atmosphere, and the smiles on your friends faces as they eat.

Hakkasan London is one of two locations of Hakkasan. We have visited the second location in Miami however favor the Soho branch. Alan Yau, the man behind the art that is Hakkasan is also the founder of Wagamama, which we all love. He created what he calls “Modern Authenticity.” I call Hakkasan art, because they treat the food like art; a solid foundation of traditions with the fearless change to make then divine recipes.
