Melenzane – Kuwait
Meaning “eggplant” in Italian, Melenzane opens in Kuwaits albeda’ area. Creating a gem, that caters to Kuwaiti taste with all the fresh ingredients, sauces, and cheese of Sicilian cuisine. The unique recipes they have created, the fabulous selection of the menu, as well as the innovative design of the interior makes this place one of Kuweats favorite Italian restaurants. Though small and new, Melenzane surpassed our expectations.
Bursceta Ragu (Mini burgers) in the freshest thinnest bun topped with rocca and eggplant, created a perfect combination of flavors to compliment our pasta that came later. We did however order the Liver Chino ( chicken liver) which we found to be delicious juicy taste , but we prefer less cooked liver .
The Dolce fungi ( mini mushrooms ) were mini bites of heaven which was really creative and tender with the combination of its special sauce that melts in your mouth…
Penne Pasta with special sauce, and a chicken and mushroom risotto were then placed on our table. We favored the Champinon Risotto to the penne. It was simply delicious, with a smooth aroma and creamy texture that had us yumming till the last bite.
Than we rounded up this amazing dinner up with the Spinach Mia ( spinach lasagna ) with small chicken pieces inside a dish that was cooked to perfection.
Loving everything about this place, and what made us love it even more the Teramsu that made us leave with an amazing smile , really proud of what Melenzane has accomplished in its first days and will be for sure there again. We actually have reservations in an hour (at the time this was written). Definitely a place worth Kuweating. Enjoy!
