Saso Restaurant & Lounge – Kuwait

Saso caught the eyes of many Kuwaities as a trendy little lounge in the middle of Kuwaits old city.  In a jungle of office buildings, old tailoring stores, and tight roads, Saso lights side by side to Q café in Opposite Dasman complex. This busy street quiets down during the evening, making it a perfect place to go to after hours when you need to chill with a group of friends, or grab a bite in your lunch break.

We visited their website before going on our late lunch; it’s clear, has pictures of nearly everything we saw on the menu, engaging and appetizing.

Entering Saso at about 4.30 and we were one of about three tables. The place had a very “chill” atmosphere, with a simple and comfortable interior.

Looking at the menu I realized there were new additions, which made me even more eager to order; our waiter on the other hand wasn’t helping. The service was below average, he seemed like he was new, because the tables around us didn’t seem to have a problem. We had to repeat our order a few times and that wasn’t helping my empty tummy!

Our choice of starters were: Spicy rock shrimp, which were breaded nicely giving them a crispy shell, though not as spicy as I thought they would be, the shrimps were fresh and cooked well.  The best thing about Saso is that it offers a wide range of international favorites that have become “Kuwaited”. We teamed up our rock shrimp with buffalo lollipops that I’m in love with as well as a Crazy Maki roll. It was no comparison to Maki’s crazy roll, however still good with a personal “Saso” touch added.

After a fulfilling start, we opted for sliders, some potatoes and fries, with a side of mushrooms for our main course. The waiter seemed to disappoint us again by messing up our order, as well as bringing our side of mushrooms way too late for us to enjoy with the sliders. Again, not “Sliders station” but again Saso seems to bring kuweaty favorites to one place, and that’s what we love about them. We enjoyed kuweating there, we just think the waiter needs to get used to the amount of food we order!

Kuweat and Enjoy everyone..
