b+f Open Flame Kitchen 2

Since our Open Flame Kitchen review was read so many times by Kuweaters-that had endless questions about their menu, we decided to write a new review; a full guide to what we think OFK is all about. What to eat, who to talk to, the staff, the location.. You name it.

The endless crowd of people waiting to sit and enjoy OFK is the only negative thing we can think of. Yes, it is a negative thing for the customers but you can always go there early dont make the traffic as an excuse that means everyone loves the place , on the other hand im sure that the owners are enjoying the view of the sea of people coming in everyday. We think that Lenotre, Lorenzo, and Life with cacao should all send OFK a letter of appreciation for getting people surrounded in their areas, and making their waiting lists even longer. Finally, Avenues are probably biting their nails right now.. they didn’t see OFK coming.
Vilas, the manager has the most amazing personality, and attitude that’s reflecting on all of their staff; making them very friendly, and always ready with a warm welcoming smile.

We visited OFK many times since their soft opening, and would like to share with our readers the wonderful dishes that we love, and that are also Kuweaters favorites. We all know OFK is a part of the whole b+f experience, but the first thing we want you to do, is not to compare sliders to OFK. Go to OFK with a simple mindset, detaching it from the lovely mini burgers we eat opposite Al Seif palace.

We start off with their fresh breadbasket, and seven up apple juice which sparkles away in your mouth. Spreading their home made butter, or labna and enjoying the warm. A bowl of Tokyo salad is always our choice to start off with; crispy cabbage, combined with crispy wontons and home made sauce.

Cocola short ribs OFK are a customer favorite, along with their lollipops, signature commando fries and buffalo shrimps and finally their Asian style shrimp. Their endless choices and unique recipes for appetizers are on the top of everyone’s list. Knowing Kuweaters love to share, a handful of choices for appetizers is the way to go!

Our Italian favorites are their pizza, golden and oven baked, light and made with the right amount of cheese. We also love their risotto; two dishes taking you to the heart of Italy, in the heat of our own Kuwait.

The Roma burger, what we think is the number one burger in Kuwait;A 180 grams of pure Wagyu beef, with rosemary Portobello mushrooms, in a soft potato bun.Next is the Duke; a Wagyu patty, in a different bun and between different fillings and finally the Wild Fire burger, also an amazing choice from their burger selection.

Moving on to their new revolution for steaks..yes a revolution.

They have their normal cuts, premium, and marinated. Meaning they can make your steak, however way you want it. Cooked to absolute perfection, is what makes their steaks to die for. And to top off all of that, their sauces, as well as marinates have you craving them after you leave.

At Kuweat, our favorite is their rib eye, and rack of lamb along with the 3-pepper cream sauce, that goes well with the tender, sweet meat. The Argentinean Ribs is something will make you go dance the tango.  Their Korean BBQ however reached the peak of our list, hands on the most tender, and juiciest meat we’ve ever had. We definitely think it will be the Kuweater’s choice..

Ending a wonderful dinner is a list of even more wonderful desserts. How can a restaurant, conquer every aspect of their menu? They even have dessert cafes drooling over them..

Though this is the second review, we really don’t think it does justice for OFK.

We’ll be writing about their menu.. As we try more dishes, as they evolve, and as you Kuweat.

Thanks OFK, for making Kuweaters proud of a wonderful Local Heaven; making people from all over the Gulf come to Kuweat a dinner.
